Privacy Policy
Effective September 30, 2026
- No accounts. We never ask for your name or email in the app.
- Your meal log stays on your phone.
- Photos and descriptions are sent off only to get an estimate, and are never stored.
- No ads, no ad trackers, and we don't sell data.
This policy covers the Ballparker app for Android and iOS and the website ballparker.app. Ballparker is made by Ploski Studio in Canada ("we", "us"). Questions: [email protected].
What stays on your phone
Your meal log, daily goal and settings are stored only on your phone. The app keeps them out of cloud backups. If you switch phones, you can move them with Export log and Import log. The file you export is yours, and we never see it. Deleting the app deletes this data.
Photos and meal descriptions
When you ask for an estimate, the app sends the photo, or the words you typed, over an encrypted connection to the Ballparker API (hosted on Cloudflare). The API passes it to OpenRouter, which sends it to an AI model to produce the estimate. Right now that model is Google's Gemini. We tell OpenRouter to use only providers that don't keep or train on the data.
We don't store or log your photos, descriptions or estimates on our servers. The estimate comes back to your phone, and only your phone keeps it.
Your Ballparker ID
On first launch the app makes a random ID. It isn't tied to your name, email or phone number. We use it to:
- enforce the daily estimate limit (we count estimates per ID per day and delete the counts after a week);
- check that your ID has an active trial or subscription (a recent "yes" is kept for up to a week);
- let you ask us for free access or support, by sending us the ID shown in Settings → Your plan.
A new install gets a new ID.
Subscriptions and payments
Payments are handled by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We never see your card or payment details.
We use Adapty to manage subscriptions. Adapty receives the following, and uses them to confirm what you bought:
- your Ballparker ID;
- your purchase and subscription records from the store;
- basic app and device details: app version, device model, operating system, language, region and store.
We have turned off Adapty's collection of advertising IDs and IP addresses.
Server logs
Our API logs what kind of request it was, whether it worked, and how long it took, but not what you sent. Cloudflare sees your IP address when it delivers the request, and uses it to stop floods of requests. We don't store IP addresses.
The website and the waitlist
If you join the waitlist on ballparker.app, we store your email address and when you signed up. We use it only to tell you when Ballparker launches, and we never share or sell it. The website has no ad trackers. It loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so Google sees your IP address when you visit.
What we don't do
- No accounts or logins.
- No advertising, and no advertising or analytics trackers in the app.
- We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.
Who else handles data
We use these service providers. Each handles data only to provide its part of Ballparker:
- Cloudflare, which hosts the API and website;
- OpenRouter and the AI model provider it routes to, currently Google, for estimates;
- Adapty, for subscriptions;
- Google Play or Apple, for payments.
They may process data outside Canada, including in the United States. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Children
Ballparker is not meant for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices and rights
You can delete everything on your phone by deleting the app. To ask what we hold about your Ballparker ID, or to have it deleted, email us with the ID from Settings → Your plan. The same goes for removing your waitlist email. Some purchase records have to be kept for tax and legal reasons, and the store (Google or Apple) keeps its own records under its own policy. Depending on where you live, you may have more rights under laws such as Canada's PIPEDA or the EU's GDPR. We'll honour them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll also say so in the app.
